On Saturday 12th of November 2016, Assumption University held an event ‘The Honour…ที่สุดในดวงใจ’ at Albert Laurence School Of Communication Arts, Assumption University Suvarnnabhumi campus. With Rev.Bro.Dr.Prathip M. Komolmas, Rector Emeritus and founder of Assumption University, chairpersons, lecturers, students, and alumni. To pay their deepest respect to King Bhumibol Adulyadej who recently passed away on October 13th.
With all the effort that the students of Assumption University put in to make this event successful. All nations were welcomed to join the event, to become one, and to sing ในหลวงของแผ่นดิน altogether. Altogether there were 500 people at this event, who vowed to make the good deeds for country’s betterment and to pass on His Majesty King Bhumibol’s teaching and way of life to the next generation.
Asst.Prof.Chonlathip Poonsirivong, chairperson of Performance Communication major and project owner of this event disclosed that apart from learning, teaching event management to Communication Art students, Students that are both Thai born and International are all deeply affected by His majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s recent passing.
Which sparked the thought to create an event that shows more than just love that everyone has towards the king, but also to express loyalty and gratitude in kindness of
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej that he has shown to his people, both Thai and International as well. That is why we named the event “ที่สุดในดวงใจ”
The way of expressing our deepest condolences are told from the perspectives of ordinary students with informal language that can reach the feeling of faithfulness, being proud, and appreciative feeling. Furthermore, we will remind ourselves of how lucky are we to be born in the reign of King Rama IX with the family institution, education system, and royal monarchy that shapes an individual to become complete man.
Hence, Assumption University aims to teach students to have knowledge and ethics in order to be the nation’s wheel according to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s royal guidance given in 1979 on commencement day. The commencement day is the sign that the graduates are now completed and it’s also the day they will give thanks to their family for the support. And this is the way of passing the good way of life and warm hearted culture that will be handed down from generation to generation like the guiding glowing light that His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej had always taken care of Thai people with his heart and soul
The Honour…ที่สุดในดวงใจ not only pay respect to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej but surrounded with warmth and gratitude from everyone at Assumption University, family, and people who become completed graduate.
The sparkling glimpse of light will continue leading our life
Even the time slowly flies away and life was taken back to better place
But His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej will forever be the precious part of our heart
And be remembered until our last breath
Our deepest condolences are with the royal family and Thai people
