Shrewsbury re-unites with old friends
On 8th January, members of Shrewsbury International School Bangkok’s Alumni Association (SISBAA) came together to welcome in the new year at SISBAA’s second annual Alumni City Drinks event.
The event, hosted at a stylish Sukhumvit bar, was a chance for our former students to catch up with their teachers and friends. They were also joined by a number of Old Salopians, alumni of our UK sister school, two of whom have recently enrolled their own children into our youngest Early Years classes.
Whilst attendee’s connections to Shrewsbury were hugely varied, spanning two continents and different generations, the fond memories they share of their time at Shrewsbury made for a typically fun and relaxed evening. Thank you to everyone who attended and who made the night possible. We look forward to seeing our Alumni again at the annual reunion party in June.
Finally, the evening also provided an opportunity for us to bid farewell to Mrs. Gillian McCaskey, who will shortly be leaving Thailand to take up a deputy headship position in New Zealand. Mrs. McCaskey has been with us from the start of Shrewsbury Bangkok since 2003 and as both a class teacher (Geography), and latterly as Director of Higher Education, has had a special and direct role in helping our graduates secure places at leading universities around the world. We wish her the very best of luck in her new life.
