Shrewsbury Class of 2013 graduate Jacqueline Chulya succeeded again. Jackie, who was an Elite Gold member of the Team Shrewsbury sports programme has just earned a spot on 2013-14 the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar list and was honored with the award.
“Considering the rigorous academic demands of Columbia University and Ivy League as a whole, this is quite the accomplishment to obtain,” said her head coach Amy Weeks. “Lisa, Jackie, and Rachel have been a tremendous asset to our team on the golf course and in leadership roles off the course as well.”
Jackie held the teams second lowest average last year at 77.48.
The All-American Scholar Team is comprised of 679 women’s collegiate golfers from Division I, II &III teams. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. These student athletes must post a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
The fall season has just started and Jackie is busy traveling to Penn State in the beginning of October 2014 and then to straight to Seattle.
Jackie studies Biomedical Engineering at Columbia’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering.
